The reason I joined my family’s business right after graduation against any opinion.
Gaining experience in other companies is overrated
After the M.D. in Industrial Engineering, I rejected 3 contracts from big firms.
I decided instead to join my family’s business, Urania Group. It’s an 8-figure B2B manufacturing business. Everyone else was against this choice, and I was afraid of remaining locked in a company for the rest all my life.
I didn’t understand all the implications of this choice, but I decided to take the risk.
Before working for other companies, I wanted to understand my family’s business deeply.
You can’t command the kitchen of another chef.
People pushed me to make my bones in the external world before. But they assumed I would join the company one day for sure. I wasn’t sure about this, and I was supported by the firm conviction that I couldn’t learn anything valuable from other jobs without knowing the business.
Luckily, I was right because I saved the company business.
